Hi Pet parent,
🐶 Halloween is almost here! Costumes, doorbells, candy bowls… it’s a lot for our four-legged friends.
Here are four quick tips (dog-forward, cat-friendly!) to make the night fun and calm.
🐾1. Create a “calm corner”
Set up a quiet spot away from the front door with their bed, water, and a favorite toy. Turn on soft music or white noise to muffle doorbells and trick-or-treat chatter.
Little helper: our Pawproof snuggle blankets make instant cozy burrows for pups and shy kitties who prefer to supervise from afar.
👻2. Practice the door routine
For dogs who are new to Halloween, rehearse a few “doorbell → sit → treat” rounds. It’s a quick way to turn excitement into polite sits and wags.
Treat idea: the Halloween Farm to Pet Snack Pack bundle - six snack-size dog-treat packs with all-natural chicken, turkey, beef, and fish. Perfect “good job!” rewards between knocks.
🍬3. Keep the Candy Stash Off-Limits
Chocolate, xylitol, and raisins are a big NO for pets.
And while you're watching what they put in their mouth, keep an eye on decorations. Fake webbing, costume parts and pieces, attracts curious sniffs and nibbles.
🎃4. ID Tags Are Your Best Friend
With all the door-opening action on Halloween night, even the most loyal pup might make a break for it.
Make sure their collar, ID tag, and microchip info are all up to date - just in case your little escape artist decides to join the trick-or-treaters!
Bonus: If your pet is okay wearing a costume (don't force it) - it's an incredibly cute holiday!
Pets don’t just receive happiness—they spread it!
Studies show that interacting with pets reduces stress and boosts serotonin in humans too.
So, by making your pet happy, you’re also making your own day brighter. 🌞🐶
