Hi there!
If you think you’ve had a wild day, let me introduce you to Molly, the world’s most obvious fugitive.
Molly, a stylishly pink-haired poodle from Garfield, New Jersey, decided that normal walks were overrated and instead embarked on a two-hour, high-speed chase through town.
Her goal? Ultimate freedom. Her problem?
She was neon pink.
Molly escaped from her home which led her owner to contact the local police to help with the search.
The police shared an image on their Instagram, which to nobody's surprise, led to her easily being located.
Despite her very obvious appearance, Molly was surprisingly quick, enjoying the game of chase and managed to outmaneuver her worried owner, local police, and half the town before making a dramatic leap into the freezing Passaic River.
This pink blur of determination swam to a small island, where she apparently decided to set up her own personal poodle paradise.
An officer noted that Molly swam the length of a football field to reach the spot. This poodle had energy to burn!
But alas, her dream of living off the land was cut short.
Thanks to a full-scale rescue operation (which included police, firefighters, and probably half the neighborhood with their phones out), Molly was safely returned home—shivering, but still fabulously pink.
Moral of the story? If you’re going to make a great escape, maybe don’t be hot pink.
Stay safe (and keep your pets on a leash).
