Tell us about your nutrition when getting ready for summer, specifically shredding season. "For me, it’s about keeping things digestible and sustainable. I’m not chasing extremes—just refining the system. I focus on whole foods that support energy and recovery: plenty of greens, high-fiber carbs like quinoa and sweet potatoes, and clean proteins like eggs, lentils, or tempeh when I’m eating vegetarian. My fats stay clean—avocado, olive oil, nuts—and I’m mindful of portions. When cutting, I shift to higher protein, moderate carbs, and lower fats, but I don’t fixate on numbers. I stay consistent, tune into how my body responds, and eat to feel light, fueled, and focused."

How does your workout regimen change with warmer weather? "Warm weather signals it’s time to take training outside and let it feel like play again. I see fitness as adult recess—and summer is peak recess. More running, walking, stair sprints, trail work—anything that moves the body and clears the mind. I’ll often take clients through outdoor bodyweight circuits or kettlebell flows in the park. It’s not about grinding—it’s about reconnecting with the body, using movement to manage stress and build resilience. I’ll still lift heavy a couple of days a week, but the rest is more dynamic, functional, and definitely outdoors." |

What changes in your routine when you’re looking to lean out? "First things first—I manage stress. People chase fat loss but overlook that stress is one of the biggest fat hoarders. So I prioritize quality sleep, daily walks, and proper hydration. Then I start layering in the work: increasing volume with tempo and time-under-tension training, adding more daily movement, and shifting lifts to a more metabolic style—supersets, giant sets, full-body work. The goal isn’t burnout—it’s building a body that’s strong, efficient, and adaptable. I stay away from overdoing cardio and focus more on movement quality and consistency." |

How do you stay fit on the go? "When I travel, my focus is on protein, movement, and mindset. I pack high-protein snacks—bars, protein-boosted trail mix, or homemade overnight oats with plant protein. I stay active without a gym—walking, hotel room bodyweight sessions, quick stair circuits, or flowing on a bench or playground. Most importantly, I stay flexible. It’s about consistency, not perfection. If my mind’s right and my body’s moving, I can always slide back into my routine when I’m home." |

Tell us your five summer essentials. - Kettlebell – Portable, versatile, and no excuses. I can train anywhere, anytime.
- Solid running shoes – Whether it’s a walk, jog, or sprint, the foundation matters.
- Signature SHRED stack – My go-to when I’m dialing it in for summer—helps sharpen focus and support fat loss.
- Hydration jug – Not flashy, but essential. Staying hydrated is key to feeling lean, energized, and performing well.
- Move-ready shorts – Whether I’m training, sprinting stairs, or jumping into the ocean post-hike, I need gear that keeps up.
