As a product designer, sometimes you just have to make something for yourself and get the company to pay for it.
That is exactly what I did with the travel bag. I had used a bunch of toiletry bags over the years and found out what I liked and didn’t like—so I wanted to combine all those things in ONE bag.
Here’s how it went...
- I travel fairly light, so it didn’t need to be huge. Also, I’m almost never gone anywhere for more than a week, so this was the right size. I didn’t like bags that were too rigid (show smashing leather bag) as I don’t want them to take up more space than necessary if they aren’t full.
- Light-colored interiors make it easier to see inside. Given my reasonable amount of stuff to travel with, I wanted to keep the organization simple. Small stuff goes on the sides, and you can group it by type (also, never travel without floss or nail clippers).
- If I’m bringing some cash, I always stash it in this side zipper pocket, because—who’s looking in here? It's secure, plus I know where it is. Now that you know my secret, please don’t steal my money.
- It seems like everywhere I go there is almost no counter space, adding a good hook to hang the bag was key—also having the zipper go down from the top allows you to get stuff out of it while it's hanging.
- Expand it for bigger loads; snap it down for a more compact feel.
Stay tuned for the official drop on our site. We only made a limited quantity for the release, so we expect to sell out fast!
