In our latest video, we explore one of the most common challenges in any planning practice: staying consistent. Despite a wide range of backgrounds and experiences across the Bullet Journal community, nearly 90% of people shared the same struggle—consistency.
So how do we return to our intentions when we’ve drifted? How do we build a practice that lasts—not just through motivation, but through meaning?
The video outlines four thoughtful, accessible steps designed to help you nurture consistency with compassion—not pressure. Here’s a closer look:
1. Set Intentions, Not Expectations
Too often, goals come from a sense of obligation. “I should eat better.” “I should get more sleep.” But “should” rarely leads to lasting change. Instead, set intentions rooted in who you want to be in the present—not some distant future.
One example shared is the shift from “I should eat healthy” to “I want to be someone who eats in a way that respects themselves.” When we align our intentions with our values, our actions feel more purposeful—and more sustainable.
2. Take the Time to Take Time
We can’t make time, but we can take it. And that starts with awareness. What’s taking your time now? What are you saying yes to by default? Even ten minutes a day can help you pause, reflect, and reclaim your attention for what really matters.
3. Start Smaller Than You Think You Need To
Ambition is powerful, but it can also overwhelm. Rather than setting a bar you can’t sustain, start where you are—with something that feels manageable. Five minutes of journaling is infinitely more effective than none. Small steps compound into meaningful change.
4. Don’t Go It Alone
Community strengthens commitment. Being part of a group with shared intentions can provide not only accountability, but also insight and encouragement. As the video reminds us: if you want to go far, go with others.
Consistency doesn’t mean doing it all, perfectly, all the time. It means returning—again and again—to what matters most. This video offers a gentle, actionable guide to help you do just that.
