In all honesty, the reason we’re doing it now is because we can finally afford to! Our prices are set at the meeting point of three things: what it costs to really create spices of the highest quality, what our farmers need to feel fairly compensated, and what our community can afford. Striking the delicate balance between these factors is what keeps our biz fair, ethical and sustainable. Constantly discounting our hard work and offering flashy sales would be in opposition to everything we stand for. The flipside that our team is very aware of is that our products are often inaccessible to the many wonderful folks who love our ethos and want to use our spices in their homes. So this year, we finally feel confident that we can offer a big sale to our amazing community, while still maintaining our margins and ensuring our farmers in India and Sri Lanka continue to be paid fairly. As luck would have it, the math worked out right in time for Black Friday.
