It’s been a prolific year at Elysium. In the last 12 months, we launched our first-of-its-kind supplement for skin aging,
Mosaic;
Index got a major update and now measures 10 different aspects of aging, making it the only biological age test to provide this level of insight; and we introduced the
Aging Research Center and its debut landmark aging and longevity study, TIME-A. We also welcomed Ted Leng, M.D., M.S., to the Scientific Advisory Board, and continued apace with our research program, including a grant award from the National Institutes of Health. All of these developments have been possible because of you, our community members, and the dedication of our Elysium team, Scientific Advisory Board, and research partners. Mosaic, we worked with the Chair of the Department of Dermatology at Weill Cornell Medicine, Dr. Richard Granstein, to deliver a truly innovative product for skin aging. We also introduced significant improvements to
Index, further differentiating it from other biological age tests—it is now not only the most precise but the only test to measure 10 aspects of aging. On the therapeutic side, we successfully concluded a human study in the devastating group of diseases known as COPD, as well as advanced our ALS trial to half-recruited, and initiated a study in MS. With the launch of the
Aging Research Center and TIME-A, we’re creating opportunities to participate directly in longevity research that have never existed before, while pushing the field forward. Elysium’s continued commitment in 2024 is to keep helping people access, understand, and benefit from scientific breakthroughs in longevity.”

Elysium Launches Mosaic to Glowing Reviews
|

|
|
|
|
Of all the major developments at Elysium in 2023, we were especially proud to introduce Mosaic on October 4. Mosaic is a whole-body supplement that fights skin aging from the innermost layers, while also targeting surface-level skin aging and delivering surface-level benefits. This purpose-built formulation was developed with the advisement of
Dr. Richard Granstein, chair of the Department of Dermatology at Weill Cornell Medicine for nearly 30 years.

Product Updates: Index and Matter Evolve
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
One of our top priorities is to create an innovative ecosystem of products that target aging—and we don’t stop innovating on launch day. This year we released two important updates to maintain our superior technology and better serve members of our community. In February, we introduced the all-new
Index biological age test—which now measures 10 different aspects of aging using the latest generation technology in the science of epigenetics. In addition to biological age and cumulative rate of aging, Index calculates the biological age of nine different systems, including the brain, heart, metabolic, and immune, and is the only biological age test to do so. Elysium is pleased to be the first to offer this level of in-depth insight into how you’ve been aging.

Matter also got an update this year—thanks to your feedback. Many of you requested a smaller size that would be easier to swallow. We listened, and to celebrate the third anniversary of Matter in June, we made our groundbreaking brain health supplement 20% smaller. It’s the same formula, with the same great benefits for your brain, in this new and improved size. Thanks for trusting us with your health goals and providing honest feedback—we appreciate it!

The Aging Research Center Launches With TIME-A
|

|
|
|
|
The Aging Research Center debuted in 2023 along with a landmark aging and longevity study—the Translational Initiative to Map Epigenetics in Aging (TIME-A). Elysium developed the Aging Research Center to enable greater public access to breakthroughs in aging science by providing our community with the first-ever opportunity to participate directly in longevity research.
|

TIME-A is a landmark aging and longevity study that puts these goals and priorities into action. Since its launch at the end of April, we’ve already enrolled more than 2,200 participants. TIME-A aims to advance our understanding of the connections between epigenetics, lifestyle, demographics, and health and aging. TIME-A was designed with the direction and advice of an expert researcher in prospective cohort studies,
Meir Stampfer, M.D., Dr.P.H., research professor of epidemiology and nutrition at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, co-principal investigator of the Nurses' Health Study, and Elysium Health Scientific Advisory Board member.

Research Update

This year has seen a flourishing of new scientific literature on aging. At Elysium, clinical research is a top priority for us. That’s because we’re committed to offering evidence-based products that target aging, and to driving the field of longevity research forward. As of 2023, we’ve participated in more than 14 ongoing or completed clinical trials, including two studies initiated this year by our collaborators to investigate the safety and efficacy of nicotinamide riboside (NR) in osteoporosis and progressive multiple sclerosis. As the year comes to a close, we’re pleased to share that a study by our collaborators examining a novel strategy to enhance the neuroprotective properties of NR and pterostilbene in ALS mouse models was recently published, and our manuscript examining the association between homocysteine levels and biological age is currently under review. Elysium was also awarded a research grant earlier this year by the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Disease to study our experimental osteoarthritis therapeutic.

Scientific Advisory Board includes 25+ pioneers in science and medicine, among them eight winners of the Nobel Prize. In 2023, we were honored to welcome Theodore Leng, M.D., M.S., as the newest member of our very engaged Board. Dr. Leng is an internationally recognized specialist in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery and has been named one of the top 150 innovators in the field of retina. He serves as the Director of Clinical and Translational Research at the Byers Eye Institute at the Stanford University School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology in Palo Alto, CA, where he oversees more than 50 research programs.
