Hey all-
Every year I create an internal design guidebook for my team. This year I decided to share it with you so you could get a behind the scenes look at our newest collection.
The big new launch in men's is the coastline Chino. And this is a product that we realized we need. Obviously we have the Stretch Terry, which has become such a go-to five pocket for all of our customers. And then we needed to have a chino, and when I say a chino, they're kind of classic slash pocket on the hip with a well pocket in the back. So, you can dress it up. You can dress it down. The fabric is amazing. It's an organic cotton Tencel mix. We mill it at a great factory, a great mill in Turkey. It's a beautiful pant. I think it's that pant we've kind of been missing in our arsenal. Super psyched about that.
We’re also introducing Shorelite: it’s a new product line for us, and it's really us embarking into what are the lightest weight, performance driven fabrics that are super soft. You have all the technical capabilities that you would need in our products. First, we have the hooded jacket, which is a featherweight-filled jacket. It's great for transitional seasons. It's still kind of chilly out—like 50 degrees, 60 degrees, but super light kind of can pack itself really small.
Then the Shorelite active short, which is a huge launch for us. If you think of the all day short as your beach-to-bar and it looks like a classic short, you can swim in. This is the short that you can go from yoga, bike rides, jogs, surfing and kind of seamlessly make your way to the bar. Also, this comes in some solids and some prints, but really an amazing alternative to a bathing suit because it's got the compression liner in it, but the compression liners is an open mesh. So you don’t have to worry about getting wet or water going and like blowing up your shorts. Super psyched about this and cool hidden features within the zippers and stuff.
And in our Women’s guidebook, I like seeing the Sunwashed package now, having the full offering of including the sweaters, the tees, the hoodies, and really that amazingly soft, organic cotton washed and weathered—really becoming a signature Faherty look and feel.
We have a cool offering of linen that we'll be introducing earlier in the season—not waiting until summer to introduce our whole linen program. You’ve got the Monterey linen pant, we introduced linen jersey in v-neck, the Miramar muscle tank, and the Miramar cardigan. Thinking about linen as such an important kind of DNA of the brand—we love linen as a lower impact fiber due to the fact that flax needs hardly any water to grow. So it's an amazing fiber from a sustainability perspective. And from a wearability perspective, linen naturally is cooling. It gives you that cool-hand feel that’s great as the weather gets warm.
We paired this back with the Monterey pants and the Miramar little tank, and definitely love this color palette—this sort of rich gold with the naturals and navies. This is great in that later part of Spring.
Thanks for continuing this journey with us. We appreciate you.
Mike
