Digital eye strain, or computer vision syndrome, happens when our eyes are exposed to high-energy visible (HEV) blue light emitted by digital screens. Blue light scatters more easily than other visible light, which means your eyes have to work harder to focus on screens, leading to fatigue, dry eyes, blurred vision, and headaches. The longer you spend looking at screens, the more these symptoms build up.
Incorporating small changes into your routine can make a huge difference in how your eyes feel:
Take Breaks: Follow the 20-20-20 rule... every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds to give your eyes a break.
Adjust Your Screen Settings: Lower the brightness of your screens and adjust your seating to minimize glare.
Wear Blue Light Glasses: Slip on your Felix Gray glasses during any screen time to filter out the harmful blue light and reduce strain.
