Our dearest tinned fish friends,
I hope I’m finding you leaping into the year 2026 with hopes high and hearts ablaze! 2025 was a momentous year at Fishwife. There were ups and downs, highs and lows, but I have to tell you the highs were much higher and the ups seemed to touch the skies above! Here are some of the big wins.
1) I always start this recap with team, because the truth is - the team is EVERYTHING 💪🏼. The team determines if the weekday mornings are thrilling to rush into, it dictates if the fish is sold and sold well, it decides each and everything beautiful thing you see coming from Fishwife! We grew to 10 full-time absolute geniuses this year across marketing, sales, and ops and every day spent working alongside them was bliss.
2) We wrote and launched
The Fishwife Cookbook 📚, chock full of Danny “Danbo” Miller’s stunning illustrations as well as 80 easy and delicious recipes. We also got to take the cookbook on tour and meet so many of you in Austin, San Francisco, Chicago, NYC, and LA!!
3) We had our biggest tinned fish launches EVER 🚀!! Our
Albacore Tuna with Spanish Lemon arrived in the spring and quickly became a fan favorite for its bright and zesty bite, our two gorgeously saucy
Mussels as well as our
Smoked Trout with Chimichurri splashed onto the scene in the summertime, and our
Tuna Belly (now sold out!) arrived with a tidal wave during the fall!!
4) We hit
10,000 retails doors nationwide 🤯! We launched across the country with Costco, Target, Publix, and more! We introduced tinned fish to the Murray’s Cheese section at Kroger, and we brought oodles of new tins into Whole Foods, Sprouts, Wegmans, The Fresh Market and so many more retail partners!
5) We made chocolate sardines with Bixby Chocolate, smoked salmon with Bon Iver, sardine hair clips with Chunks, anchovy vermouth with Veso, sandals with Chacos, lemon + anchovy butter with Churn, and caviar with Tsar Nicoulai. We love to make things with our friends at Fishwife 👭, and we shall not be stopped in the pursuit!!!
We couldn’t have moved any of these mountains, the little or the big, without you. Fishwife will continue to evolve in some extremely exciting ways in the coming year, and we’re thrilled beyond words to have you on the journey!! Keep your eyes out for more and more fun news as always, we love to keep it coming for you!! Yeeehaw!!!!
