Black and Champagne: a colour combination that is totally unique to Fred Perry.
Delving into our archive and looking at the colour-cards from various eras, it’s acknowledged that Black / Champagne / Champagne was the first shirt to use colour, introduced in the 1950s.

An alternative to the classic white, it represents tennis, Wimbledon and Fred’s champion status, whilst black is the anti-hero colour, with completely opposite values – nights out in dingy nightclubs where subcultures are nurtured.

Black / Champagne sticks two fingers up at the preppy, pastel vibe and still looks as sharp today as it did all those years ago when Fred dared to do something different.
