Hi Glow Gang,
Earlier today, we did what most skincare brands do. We launched a new product that the Glow team has poured their hearts into for years.
And while that’s always exciting, and something we look forward to with so much pride, we couldn’t move through today without acknowledging that there is something bigger on our minds.
This moment in time is difficult for many of us.
As you may know, Glow Recipe was founded by two Korean Americans, and this brand was born from our experience living between cultures, shaped by the stories, traditions, and skincare rituals passed down to us from our mothers and grandmothers in Korea. We came to the United States in pursuit of a brighter future; no different from our immigrant neighbors. This future, years later, would grow into the brand you know and love today.
So while today is a day where we get to do what we love; bringing skincare that sparks joy and care into your routines, it’s also a moment where we feel a deep responsibility to use our platform to shed light on something greater.
We are launching an immigrant storytelling initiative dedicated to amplifying stories and voices rooted in belonging, resilience, identity, and lived experience, in hopes that we can celebrate and light up these stories that need to be heard. After sharing last week on our Instagram, we were touched by the response from our community that is as passionate about this initiative as we are.
If you, or someone you love, would like to share your immigration story or personal journey, we invite you to do so here.
Because while today may look, in many ways, like any other day at a skincare brand, it is also one where we are choosing to think differently — committed to showing up for our community with integrity, inclusivity, and care, every step of the way.
We can’t wait to hear your stories.
Love,
Sarah & Christine
