One of the best parts of writing this newsletter is hearing from Going members about the trips they take with their points and miles. When you’ve shared about a Points deal you booked, you share stories of visiting family, exploring new destinations, and traveling more for less.
Our Points deals are roundtrip itineraries that you can book with your own credit card points and airline miles, all found by our tireless team of Flight Experts.
When I read stories from Going members, one theme jumps out: Many members adapt a Points deal to fit their own travel plans. Instead of booking roundtrip, they might book two one-ways or use a Points deal to get them closer to their final destination.
Here are some real ways Going members have booked Points deals. Use these as inspiration for your next trip!

Adapt deals to fit your travel plans |
Points deals help members travel more and give extra flexibility.
Points deal:
- Madrid, Spain (business)
- 74,000 miles on Iberia
Going member Scot told us, “This gets me to Madrid, where I will have 10 days to arrive in Istanbul to get my flight to Bishkek to attend the World Nomad Games.” |
Another member used one of our roundtrip points deals to book two seats one-way.
Points deal:
- Germany (business class)
- Two one-way seats for 110,000 miles on Alaska
They didn’t say where they’re going after Berlin, but once you’re in Europe, it’s a quick flight to visit other European cities. |
Another member used a Points deal to plan their own travel dates.
Points deal:
- Seattle (economy class)
- Two seats for 22,600 miles on Delta
Going member Cari said, “I couldn’t go home for the Christmas/New Years, so I've booked a January trip instead!”
Note: The original deal ranged between 5,000 and 16,000 miles per person.
Or, be flexible on the destination |
If your dates are fixed, another way to use Points deals is to let the deal decide your location.
Points deal:
- Athens, Greece (economy)
- 35,000 miles on Emirates
Going member T said this deal “matched my desired travel dates.” They were flexible about the destination and just looking forward to “sharing time with family.” |
Of course, Points deals help you save cash for other parts of your travels, too.
Points deal:
- Australia (economy)
- 51,000 miles on Delta
Going member Dana said, “I'm psyched to explore new countries, plus the ticket was cheap.” |
-
Seoul, South Korea (economy)
- 53,000 points on Virgin Atlantic
Going member Kelly said, “I was worried airfare would end up unaffordable for the trip we have planned, and this Points deal covered one of the legs of travel, making the whole travel cost fit miraculously in our budget without taking crazy flights with 5 layovers.”
Kelly booked two one-way tickets for two persons because of her travel itinerary, but the original Points deal was up to 75,000 points roundtrip for one person.

Where to find points deals |
When you open the app, click the filter button in the top-right corner. Then click Points.
When you’re logged in on the web, click on Deals in the top menu. Then click on Points.
Premium members get economy class points deals, while Elite members get business and first-class points deals, too.
You’ll see alllll the Points deals our Flight Experts have curated. This means that your points deals are not limited to only the airports you follow.
Let’s say there’s a Points deal from Seattle to Tokyo, but you live in the Northeast or the Midwest.
You can book this! Just find a positioning flight from your home airport to SEA, then catch your Points deal flight.
That means your Going membership unlocks tons of flight options with points and miles.

How to book a points and miles deal |
1. Choose the location you want to go to. |
Doing this shows you the departure airports, the months the deal is available, the cabin you’ll book, and the airline you’ll fly.
We show you the roundtrip cost in points, plus taxes and fees. Tap on the airline transfer partner box to continue.
2. Click the airline loyalty program for booking instructions. |
You’ll find step-by-step booking instructions, plus the taxes and fees you’ll pay on the award ticket.
The next screen shows you a calendar with the available departing and return dates. |
3. Ready? Click the purple “Book this deal” button. |
This takes you directly to the airline's website you’ll book through.
Once at the airline’s site, check the dates you want to fly. Once you have confirmed there’s space, go to your credit card app and transfer the required number of points.

A disclaimer about card names: |
Due to the quirks of credit card compliance, we are sometimes not allowed to use the actual names of cards or certain banks in emails. This means we have to resort to using more generic language when talking about some credit cards.
We know this can be confusing or frustrating, but we encourage you to click through to our site, where we can name and talk more candidly about the cards and their benefits. While we are bound by the rules of credit card compliance, our mission will always be to put our readers first and help you travel better for less.
