We started building Simple & Challenge Pants out of ToughDry 10 years ago - with Joe’s team in Spokane, Washington, USA. I got sick of busting the crotch out of my 501’s, so we chose a fabric that another big company (owned by Private Equity) decided to stop using because it never failed, and that was bad for their business. It’s hard to say how much I disagree with that approach, as our goal is to build stuff that lasts forever, and build whatever community we can around that.
Ten years later, I’m somewhat discouraged (wink) because I have never busted one pair of ToughDry pants or shorts. Only fire has brought me to Scars for a patch job and even those are still going strong. The big differentiator is the range of motion and the abrasion resistance. This squat below (I know, heels on the ground next time) would have immediately busted my 501’s. Here, no problem.
