This year’s Team Assessment, one of our toughest pinnacle events, ended with something we haven’t seen before: an even split at the finish line. Five women. Five men. All of them endured 48 hours of physical and mental challenges that our Cadre and Events Team put them through.
And when the dust settled, the top team was Taylor and Allison, an all-female pair who didn’t just hold their own, they set the standard. A reminder that we can do hard things.
Then there was Antonella. When her teammate was med-dropped due to extreme dehydration, she made the call to keep going. She cycled through two more partners before ultimately finishing the event, which she called the longest 48 hours of her life, as the only mixed female/male team.
At the finish line, she was handed a bouquet of roses and it marks the only time we’ve ever seen flowers at the end of a GORUCK event. That contrast said it all. Strength and beauty, grit and grace, that’s what being a mother rucker is all about.
