We’re currently training for two Hero WODs that honor great men: MANION WOD (a ton of squats) in two weeks and MURPH (a ton of pull-ups) at the end of May. I’ll be wearing a Rucking Weight Vest for both, training with sandbags (which are finally back in stock after sitting in a port for over 7 months - fun). A few years ago, I learned the hard way that jumping into MURPH cold = elbow tendonitis. Hubris is the hero killer and Pain is the greatest teacher, and I learned a lot. One take-away is that doing less weight is always a better option than doing nothing.
This does NOT have to be expensive. While fitness trends push optimization and luxury vibes, our goal is the opposite. We want to drench parking lots with the Grim Reaper’s tears and smash some Bud Heavies when we’re done. We don’t care how much weight you do, we just encourage you to show up and do the work.
For those looking to ruck MANION or MURPH, we build the best quality gear in the world, backed by our Scars Lifetime Guarantee. You can save a bunch of $$ with the bundles, too.
The “great lie” is the idea that a brand must choose between building only expensive or only accessible gear, judging itself solely on price. Our take is simple: we solve problems for real people with quality gear. Some solutions cost more, others less, and that becomes the price. At the end of the day, use what you got or borrow from a buddy if that’s what you need to do. We’re ready when you are, join us!
