50 years ago, Rich completed 22SAS Selection. This was an event he passed before seeing Africa with the Brits (Who Dares Wins), then coming home to help establish Delta Force.
It’s a 24K (14 mile route), out and back. The rocks are slippery and wet, the mud is muddy, the wind is sharp, the air is cold, the organizers are wonderful (and understated, per their reputation), the people standing shoulder to shoulder are like-minded, and Jacob’s Ladder is steep, and beautiful. Only through the test of a man’s soul can you prove that the human spirit is alive and well. I’m pleased to report that it very much is.
Knowledge is spread tribally amongst our kind of people, and standards are met, or they’re not. I believe in this world, and I also believe in the world where America leads, and serves honorably with partners. I believe in the special relationship with the United Kingdom. And so I had something to prove as I arrived in Wales.
Thanks to The S.F. Experience and a large crew for putting it on. We’ll be back.
