Growing up 🌻
We’re back from our biannual Heights Retreat, and let me tell you—it was pretty magical.
It’s amazing what some time away from the laptop can do. We have a team spread across the world, from the US, to South Africa, to Thailand, and while my journey from London pales in comparison, it’s always nice to get out of the city.
The focus this time was on the question—“where do we go next?” What does it mean not just to grow as a brand (although that’s always nice), but to grow up?
At the moment, I think we’re kind of in an adolescent phase. Those awkward teenage years where you feel too grown up to be young, but too young to be really grown up. That’s when the real self-discovery happens. At least it was for me.
And that’s another important part of the retreat theme. Growing up also means looking back, reminiscing, and remembering how it used to be. Being able to laugh at the mistakes, as well as learn from them.
As I mentioned, we’re a remote team. And while that brings so many advantages, it does mean that we don’t see each other as much as we like. Our retreat gives us the opportunity to connect, live our company values together, and bond. And the connections we build with each other make us able to build connections with you, our community.
For me, that’s what it’s all about.
So what’s on the way? I won’t give away too much, but let’s just say, we’re excited, and I think you would be too. There was plenty of crafting and creating and testing and tasting going on. Keep your eyes peeled and you might even see a new product on the way 👀
