Dear Friends,
On the darkest night of the year, a child was born in a stable, surrounded not by wealth or status, but by love.
The Gospel story tells us that wise men came to honor this child. His poor surroundings did not put them off; the threadbare clothing did not blind them. They saw something greater. They saw his essence.
Isn't that a lesson for all of us? Isn't that the story of Christmas, in the dark of the darkest night, we can see the divine in the most humble child?
How many times do we meet someone and are led astray by their income, dress, language, or appearance? How often do we meet someone and only see their handicap, only see what they cannot do?
We should learn from the wisemen and the shepherds that gathered around that infant in the manger. We should see the strengths each of us has and the story each of us has to tell. As Mark often says, "Never be blinded by a person's limitations, be awed by their possibilities."
Our lives, our world, will be a better place if we can see the possibilities in everyone we meet.
This Christmas, we invite you to join us in a simple but powerful act:
See people for who they truly are. See their heart. See their potential.
That is the true spirit of the season.
From our family to yours, we wish you joy, peace, and a Christmas filled with love.
P.S. We're so thankful to be on this journey with you. Thank you for helping us spread happiness all year long.
