Over the weekend, we shared an update about John’s Crazy Socks and our short pause through January 2.
We want to go a step further today and share why this matters and where we’re headed.
Over nine years, we’ve learned powerful lessons about inclusive employment, social enterprise, and what truly works when building businesses that put people first. This pause gives us space to apply consider the lessons learned so we can build an even better store and experience.
It also connects to the next chapter of our work.
Through our new organization,
Abilities Rising, we’re expanding our efforts to:
• Help create jobs for people with differing abilities
• Give a voice to people with differing abilities by publishing books (
Abilities Rising Publishing)
• Support families exploring entrepreneurship and employment
• Advise organizations that want to build inclusive workplaces the right way
John’s Crazy Socks remains at the heart of everything we do. It is our foundation and the most essential project. And it’s coming back refreshed in 2026.
