John here. On Monday, December 9th, we’ll celebrate our eighth anniversary. I had a dream to make people happy with socks. I told my father I wanted to go into business with him. When we started, it was just the two of us. We had only a few socks and I made home deliveries.
My Dad and I took my dream and grew it into the world’s largest sock store. We are spreading happiness and showing what people with differing abilities can do.
Our first employees were classmates of mine and Andrew Oh still works with us. Now, we have 34 employees and 22 have a differing ability. That makes me so happy. They work so hard and they do a great job.
From the very beginning, we wanted to say thank you to the people that help make this possible. We pledged five percent of our earnings to the Special Olympics because I am a Special Olympics athlete. Now, we have donated more than $800,000 to our charity partners and I have given over $150,000 to the Special Olympics. I love it.
Thank you for making this possible. We owe everything to you. You help us create jobs. You help us Give Back. Most of all, you help us spread happiness. I am so grateful.
If you are on Long Island, we are having a big Anniversary Party tomorrow in our warehouse. We have music and Santa and food trucks and lots of fun. If you are not on Long Island, we are moving the party online. Check it out.
