Dear Friend,
Big challenges need bold solutions.
That’s why every day this year, the National Geographic Society is working with scientists, conservationists, storytellers and educators who work to expand horizons, seek answers and innovate technologies that reveal the hidden connections that link people and planet… inviting all of us to help protect the wonders of our world.
Through their work and the Society’s mission-focused programs, we are helping to bring protection to those who need it most in 2025 – threatened wildlife, marine ecosystems in crisis and landscapes under pressure – and helping the communities that are inextricably intertwined with them.
Through the philanthropic support of thousands of caring people like you, the National Geographic Society continues to be at the forefront of science and discovery… but we can’t afford to slow our progress now.

Contributing Members’ support provides funding for bold and forward-thinking projects and programs across the globe, such as:
• Explorer Ruthermary Pillco Huarcaya’s work to protect the Andean bears of Peru. Through her research, she seeks to gain insight into how these bears are interacting with their habitat and what this could mean for the forests’ future, and that of the river basin.
• Explorer Ved Chirayath’s invention, development and testing of next-generation sensing technologies for studying the natural world. He is applying techniques from space exploration to image the ocean so we can better protect it.
• Explorer Gabriela Tejeda’s work in creating powerful stories and visuals to immerse audiences in the Florida Everglades landscape and inspire conservation.
