Dear Friend,
Big challenges need bold responses, and that’s where we come in.
In 2026, the National Geographic Society is working with scientists, conservationists, educators and storytellers who work to expand horizons, seek solutions and innovate technologies that reveal the hidden connections that link people and planet… inviting all of us to help protect the wonder of our world.
Through their work and the Society’s mission-focused programs, we are helping to bring protection to those who need it most this year – threatened wildlife, marine ecosystems in crisis and landscapes under pressure – and helping the communities that are inextricably intertwined with them.
Through the philanthropic support of thousands of curious and caring people like you, the National Geographic Society continues to be at the forefront of science and discovery… but we can’t afford to slow our progress now.
Will you join us by becoming a Contributing Member this year with a gift of $35 or more?
When you give today, your gift will be put to immediate use in bringing science, innovation, conservation and understanding to curious people around the world.

Contributing Members’ support provides funding for bold and forward-thinking projects and programs across the globe, such as: |
|
|
• Explorer Felicity Muth, who is exploring how ecology shapes the behavior of wild bees. Working with wild bees from rural Nevada and California, she is studying how the surrounding environment affects how bees learn and make decisions.
• Explorer Ved Chirayath’s invention, development and testing of next-generation sensing technologies for studying the natural world. He is applying techniques from space exploration to image the ocean so we can better protect it.
• Explorer Brad Norman’s effort to study the elusive whale shark and his work to build a database of thousands of shark images and sightings through citizen science to identify individuals from this majestic animal that can weigh 20 tons or more.
