App-ventures in notetaking: What’s new and noteworthy
Not much new to report so far this month, BUT did you know that MarginNote 4 was released in mid-2024?!
For some reason, the creators of MarginNote didn’t bother to tell anyone. In fact, the website just added a link to it this month. It’s still promoting MarginNote 3. Bizarre!
Anyway, MarginNote 4 comes with a whole host of upgrades. You can check out Paperless X’s YouTube video to learn all about what’s new in this upgraded app.
Minor updates, major tips
Since there weren’t any major updates this month, I thought it’d be fun to revisit a few of the newer features and show you how to get the most out of them.

Lindsay’s productivity spotlight: Sorted³
Last year, I dove headfirst into testing out different productivity methods. And honestly? I think I’ve tried them all, or at least all the most popular ones.
This year, I’m shifting gears. Instead of focusing on methods, I’ll explore the tools, apps, and software that can help boost productivity. The best part? I’ll tie them back to the methods we tested last year to show how they can work together.
Being productive is hard. There are so many things I'd rather be doing than organizing my day. (Doomscrolling? Guilty as charged.)
That's why, this month, I’m testing out Sorted³, a productivity app that combines a to-do list, calendar, and time blocking—all in one sleek interface.
The concept: Instead of manually scheduling every task, Sorted³ lets you plan your day with a simple drag-and-drop system.
Add your tasks and set durations, and the app auto-schedules them into a neat timeline. Need to adjust? The Magic Select feature reschedules everything in a tap.
The goal: Stay on top of your tasks without the hassle of micromanaging your time.
Can it be done?

Task taming in action
After a deep dive into Eat the Frog last year, I realized I needed more than just a task list. I needed a system that could help me prioritize and actually map out my day. That’s where Sorted³ comes in.
To test it out, I set a daily goal: Prioritize my hardest task first (that lingering frog 🐸) and let Sorted³ handle the rest.
Here’s what I discovered:
- Time blocking: Easy mode. No more guesswork. The auto-schedule feature gave my day structure without having to manually plan every detail.
- Built-in flexibility. If a task took longer than expected, a quick tap would reshuffle my day in seconds.
- Better focus, less stress. Having a clear schedule meant fewer decisions throughout the day. I knew what to work on and when, which made it easier to stay on track.
Sorted³ made prioritizing and scheduling so much easier. If you struggle with structuring your day (or you're constantly rearranging your to-do list, like me), it’s a game changer.
Want a way to plan your day without the headache? Give Sorted³ a shot. You might just fall in love with having a perfectly organized schedule.
