Before becoming senior repairs supervisor last summer, Hilary Ruff was the first point of contact when gear came in at our Reno, Nevada, repair center. She’d often find debit cards, ski passes, concert tickets and other forgotten treasures stashed in pockets and packs.

“A really common repair is from dog treats and pockets,” she says. “Customers feel like they need to explain why their pocket is literally chewed open.”
“We have a lot of photos and notes where they’re like, ‘Don’t trust this sweet face. Daisy is a menace, and she tore up this jacket.’ I put them up on the wall behind me.”
