It’s Dave and Jim again, writing to you from the warehouse floor. Jared’s still off enjoying annual leave (whatever that involves), so we’re keeping things moving while he’s away.
Same deal as last week, we thought we’d pull together a quick Wrap-Up of what’s been catching our eye lately, straight from where the bottles actually live. This week, one of us picked the wines. The other mostly asked questions and drank along (you can guess who's who).
First up, this one’s been moving quietly but consistently. We noticed it going out in a lot of mixed orders, which usually means people know what they’re doing. Bright, earthy, plenty of life, but still very drinkable. We like that this wine feels special without needing a special occasion. Jim likes saying "it comes from a volcano" in a terrible Italian accent.
Now for this vino from Jeff Carrel. It's juicy, relaxed, and impossible to resist. We opened a bottle to see what all the fuss was about and, thankfully it was the end of the day. Let's just say it lived up to the hype.
Classic, fresh, crisp, made to sit on the table while food happens around it. No commentary required. This is the kind of bottle we always like to have available. It's soulful wine and always puts a smile on peoples faces.
We're suckers for a good Chablis, but Broc convinced us to head North into Italy and try this nearly lost variety. It almost vanished decades ago, but it’s made a comeback, so we’re giving it a go (and you should too.)
Oh, there's a vote going on in the Sometimes Always team for best label art at the moment. Our choice was a no brainer (in our opinion). This label perfectly captures who we aspire to be as dads.
Have a lovely weekend, hopefully you found some new bottles to pop into your next order. We’ll be here to pack’em for you.
Cheers,
Dave & Jim
