Hope you had a lovely week. As always, I’m going to Wrap-Up this week’s best happenings for your 60-second reading pleasure.
They say Burgundy wines'll stop you in your tracks. I wouldn’t be so sure—this does it just as well.
Gamay, as good as it gets. Winemakers look up to him. The rest of us just wait for the latest release to land.
Here they are.If
Chardy and
Pinot are permanent fixtures in your life (no judgement), this is for you. One of Victoria’s
iconic names with a knack for turning out some of the country’s top examples. These two new releases are a very fun intro into the brand without the usual sting. Nice price.
Gold star.
This grape
nearly didn’t make it. Almost wiped out before someone decided it was worth saving. Bright, saline, sun-kissed.
Built for food, built for anyone that likes wine really. Surprisingly, still flying under the radar. Citrus-loaded, this is
my pick. Time to
get familiar.
Not telling you how to live, but I’d
get this under your arm
pretty quickly. Grab a thick wedge of Comté on the way home and you’re sorted. Tropical, pineapple-y, saline and lemony. Woof.
Thank me later.
As it stands, this
last drop isn’t widely grown in Australia—but it should be. Feels right at home in our hot climate, much like its
Portuagese homeland. Love
this example with its bright fruit, gentle spice and plenty of freshness. Heavy on the berries, fresh figs, loves food and loves a crowd.
You’ve been warned.
