Dear friends,
During this season of thanks, I want to express immense gratitude for your continued trust in me, my team, and our brand. I started Splendid over 10 years ago to make it easier to eat delicious and nourishing food. Turns out, this mission is far from easy to accomplish!
After a boost to our business during COVID, we experienced many challenges with inflation and supply chain -- forcing us to change manufacturing and fulfillment partners four times. The result has been two years of product and service ups and downs. We have done our best to shield customers from this roller coaster, but as you all know - the ride has been bumpy.
One of the requirements of being an entrepreneur is adapting to twists and turns you cannot control, always searching for solutions to the unsolvable. After looking at customer complaints and purchases, it was clear what we needed to do. In 2024 we began the painful process of downsizing. We did this in the name of a value that is absolutely paramount to the ethos of Splendid Spoon: quality.
We decided to embrace what we've always known -- how to make really good healthy, convenient food. We went back to smaller batches, we reclaimed a large part of our own fulfillment, and we chose to forgo automation in the name of higher quality packaging and meal presentation.
It took us 2 years to get here, and we hope you begin to see, feel, and of course taste the difference that a bit more TLC makes. Thank you for continuing to choose Splendid. I hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday.
