Each time Peru Churupampa returns, it arrives with something new to share—flavors shaped by the season’s unique conditions and a consistent dedication to quality.
This year’s lot of Peru Churupampa is a composed cup, featuring notes of baked apple, juicy peach, and warm spice.

The son of coffee producers, Eber Tocto worked across many parts of the coffee chain before turning his focus to his family's land. In the early days of Peru's specialty coffee movement, he was among the first generation of cuppers in the country to become Q-Grader Certified—a professional designation for coffee evaluation.

In 2011, Eber returned to his family's coffee farm in Chirinos and, together with his brothers, encouraged their father to make upgrades to help position the farm for specialty coffee production. They also built a producer organization and export company to serve neighboring farmers, which has grown to include almost 300 families. The name Finca Churupampa represents both the Tocto family's farm and the producer association.
Located on a ridge line in the Andes at 1900 meters above sea level, the town of Chirinos sits among winding mountain roads and coffee farms planted on steep slopes with views that stretch into infinity. Members grow, process, and dry their coffee before delivering it to a local purchase point, where each lot gets weighed, sampled, and cupped for a quality. Churupampa also operates a dry mill and warehouse that not only serves farmers in Chirinos but also in other local areas.

The Tocto family farm serves as a model site for testing new practices and post-harvest techniques. They now partner with farmers across the Churupampa network to establish additional model farms that support learning, collaboration, and organic best practices.
In 2016, we co-funded an organic compost system, and in 2018, we helped them expand the project to eight neighboring producers. The farm has since launched Fertifinca, a company that pelletizes compost for easy use and distributes it to affiliated growers. In 2024, we funded soil analyses to optimize compost application.

We purchased Finca Churupampa's first harvest back in 2014—just 20 bags. A decade later, their leadership, focus on environmental sustainability, and exceptional organic standards continue to impress us.
