Over nearly 20 years, Martine Rose has become a hugely impactful voice in contemporary menswear. Since debuting her first full runway collection in 2012, Martine has honed a distinct and authentic design approach that subverts the traditional codes of masculinity and reimagines menswear’s familiar themes with surprising new slants. Drawing inspiration from her heritage and the people she meets each day, Martine proposes new interpretations of ordinary clothing. She takes the seemingly mundane and pushes it into newness, utilizing unexpected fabrication or proportion. Growing up in London shaped her approach to design. “I had this broad sense of clothing being associated with different nights and different scenes. I had a precocious experience of dance and music culture and how they affected the clothes. It wasn’t fashion. My family’s Jamaican, and there was a very, very particular respect for style. Fashion was something… almost basic; if you had style, that was something else.” Supreme has worked with Martine Rose® on a new collection for Fall 2024. The collection consists of a Leather Jacket and Pant, Down Puffer Jacket, Reversible Denim Trucker Jacket and Denim Cargo Pant, Velour Track Jacket and Pant, Suit, Sweater, Shirt, Football Jersey, S/S Top, two Hooded Sweatshirts, two T-Shirts, 6-Panel, Mini Duffle Bag, Scarf, Lanyard, Stash Can and Clarks Originals® Desert Trek. Supreme and Martine Rose® have produced a 44-page black-and-white photo zine to document the collection. All profits from the zine will be donated to St. Giles Trust – a UK based charity helping people affected by homelessness, substance abuse or violence transform their lives and make meaningful positive change.
