The Light Phone III is a decision you make when you're finally ready to say "enough is enough".
Since we started making phones in 2014, our mission has been to give people back their most precious commodity - attention. Each Light Phone has been better defined by the things it's not than the features it actually comes with. Not having the internet, social media, the news, email or any click bait-y infinity whatsoever.
We're proud of the Light Phone II, and have been deeply inspired by the incredible stories you've shared with us about going light. The hours you've found. Being in the moment. Getting your brain back too. And no matter what updates we roll out - we'll continue to sell, support and service our older models. Planned obsolescence remains an outrage to us.
But we also know how difficult it can be to go against the grain of a culture that seems ready-made to distract you. Our team cherishes the unique relationship we have with our community and we've reflected on their thoughtful feedback over the past couple of years. Ultimately, we wanted to make going light even easier. So today, we're introducing the Light Phone III. A phone designed to give you the tools to flourish as the most thoughtful & intentional version of yourself.
There's something lovely about the size and slower cadence of the E-ink Light Phone II - however, we know it's not for everyone. The Light Phone III retains the calm simplicity of the black & white interface on its larger matte AMOLD display. An update that delivers significant improvements to performance and overall usability without adding needless distractions.

We've also added a camera, but... in our own way. Taking inspiration from our favorite point-and-shoot cameras, it has a dedicated real shutter button, with center focus and a fixed focal length. It's genuinely fun.

And we've gone to great lengths to future-proof this phone so that we can provide meaningful software updates without asking you to upgrade to a new product. The Light Phone III adds a metal frame, USB-C, fingerprint ID, a flashlight, 5G, and an NFC chip - giving us the potential to support a digital wallet and video calls with a front facing camera. With this single model now being more compatible internationally, and with an accessible battery that's easy to replace, this phone was made to last years.
