We typically begin each new year by making resolutions: setting ourselves a series of goals & ambitions for the months ahead. Whatever their specific manifestations, all resolutions derive from a similar impulse – a sense that we aren’t quite where we want to be in life…and badly want (and need) to make a change…
What we’re missing is a deeper understanding of what a ‘good’ life actually consists of. Losing a few pounds or walking a few thousand more steps each day may be perfectly admirable aims in and of themselves…but unless we have a sense of life’s ultimate purpose, they are unlikely to bring us the kind of lasting fulfilment we seek.
At The School of Life, we believe that every good life involves accepting – and following – just eight rules. We call these the Eight Rules of The School of Life: the fundamental laws that collectively define a meaningful, enriching existence.
