During the 18th and 19th centuries, it was considered perfectly normal to go away for a time – perhaps to a Spa town, or a coastal resort – in order to rest and recuperate after a period of illness.
Nowadays, modern medicine has supposedly eliminated the need for such trips. Yet the true benefit of retreats were as much psychological as physical; allowing us the time and space to recover from the trauma we have suffered, and return us to a state of emotional wellness and harmony.
That’s why we launched The School of Life Retreats: unique four- and five-day experiences that run throughout the year and are intended to do nothing less than expand and enhance our psychological lives. Our Therapeutic Retreats are designed to offer participants a holistic approach to healing and mental wellness through a mixture of ideas and therapeutic interventions in an atmosphere that is warm, creative and focused on change.
This November, we’ll be hosting a retreat at the beautiful Es Racó d’Artà Retreat Centre in Mallorca, Spain.
