Since today is my birthday, I thought I'd do something fun and share 38 things from my 38 trips around the sun 🥳
1. Good things take time.
2. Life is too short to drink bad coffee.
3. Everyone sees the world through a different lens.
4. The best thinking happens with pen and paper.
5. Buy things that get better with age.
6. Hatchback > sedan
7. The grass is greener where you water it.
8. Time is money. Sometimes it's worth paying for convenience.
9. Create the things you want to exist, there are probably lots of other people that want them too.
10. Raisins don’t belong in cookies. Chocolate chips do.
11. Working on the right things is more important than doing more things.
12. Trains are the best method of travel.
13. Treat people the way you want to be treated.
14. Back up your photos. Or even better, print your favorite photos.
15. Going for a walk is always good for the mind and body.
16. The best way to learn is by doing.
17. You don’t have to live somewhere cool to do cool work.
18. A well-made pair of shoes is worth every penny.
19. Window seat > aisle seat.
20. Always ask the waitress/waiter what their favorite dish is.
21. Details make the difference (even the ones you don’t think people will notice).
22. Just go to the concert. Experiencing live music is always worth it.
23. Learning to bake sourdough is a great way to slow down.
24. Everything takes longer than planned (like writing this list).
25. A toaster oven is an underrated appliance.
26. Never settle for “good enough.”
27. Everyone is making it up as they go.
28. The more complicated something is, the less likely you’ll do it or use it.
29. It’s ok to change your mind, even on a strongly held belief.
30. You can do a lot with a little.
31. Don’t tear your achilles tendon (trust me, it’s worse than you can imagine).
32. Everyone is creative, some just haven’t realized it.
33. Slow and steady wins.
34. It’s good to have hobbies that don’t make you money.

36. Seek opinions, but trust your gut.
37. You do what’s in front of you. Keep important things in sight.
