The six CLA Signature Series multieffects have been so popular because they make it easy to obtain a polished sound in seconds. Vocals, Drums, Bass, Guitars, Unplugged, and Effects all have optimized effects and parameters. However, don’t take the names too literally! CLA Vocals is a versatile multieffects for acoustic guitar. It complements CLA Guitars and CLA Unplugged by offering its own sonic palette.

To add depth and warmth, the Bass parameter excels at bringing out the low-frequency body resonances of steel- and nylon-string guitars. Treble can dial in the ideal amount of strumming percussiveness, while Compress evens out the guitar’s peaks for a smoother recorded sound.

Reverb and Delay are as well-suited to guitar as they are to voice. But the Pitch parameter is arguably the star of the show. Stereo creates a gorgeous stereo image. Wide emphasizes the left and right sides, and when pushed, adds chorusing. Spreader does just that—spreads the guitar across the stereo field.

Whether to use the Mono/Stereo or Stereo CLA Vocals depends on how your DAW’s track mode handles a mono guitar file. For example, with Pro Tools, use a mono track, and the Mono/Stereo CLA Vocals. With Studio One, use Stereo track mode and the Stereo CLA Vocals.
