To our village,
It's said that the flutter of a butterfly's wing can shift weather patterns halfway across the world. That image, at once delicate and wildly powerful, comes back to me often—how the smallest gestures can ripple out, how intention travels further than we know.
In our world, it's also a metaphor for pollination—less as theory and more as practice. Butterflies don't just flutter—they pollinate. They move through the world quietly seeding life, supporting biodiversity, and regenerating the systems that nourish us. Without pollinators, we lose the foundation of resilient food systems: healthy soil and nutrient-dense ingredients that feed us wholly—not through synthetic supplements, but through the richness of what the earth gives when it's cared for.
At the center of it all is the soil. It’s always the soil. Healthy, living, vibrant. That’s what real wellness looks like to me: food grown regeneratively, eaten joyfully, and shared abundantly. Not in powders or pills, but in peaches and pickles and the wine you sip barefoot on a fire escape. This is the butterfly effect we believe in.
That’s really at the heart of what we’re building at west~bourne. Every product, every partnership is a form of pollination, designed not just to sustain, but to regenerate as a community. People first, mission always… and most importantly, together. Our latest collaboration with Broc Cellars and Café Leandra is a love letter in that spirit. The wine is grounded in our California land, skin-kissed, and delightfully drinkable. It is also a symbol of long standing bonds, of bridging coasts and crossing disciplines. Food, wine, words—each of us brought our love language to the bottle. Shot on film, as we most often do, through the lens of our dear friend and collaborator Ben Rosser (who photographed My Regenerative Kitchen). It was a highlight of summer to spend the afternoon unwinding with Leandra in Central Park, in a city that was home for so long. As working moms and busy creatives, it’s not always easy to find the time in between it all, so I relish these chances to pause, breathe in the moment, and catch up in person.
As we savor summer with longer, sticky days and crisp nights, I leave you with musings on what I’ve been into lately:
- Joyful glass tumblers by Sophie Lou Jacobsen, as the vessel should match the intention of the wine.
- A kit to help move toward a plastic-free refrigerator.
- A handful of layerable sheer pieces—from bodysuits and dresses to mesh flats—for summer weather.
- This month, these four pieces of seasonal produce are taking up space in my brain and at my table:
- Donut Peaches
- Rhubarb Melon (ofc obsessed with Weiser Family Farms, our hometown heroes)
- Baby Zucchini and Zucchini Blossoms
With gratitude,
Camilla
