Japanese swordsmiths say some blades have a soul. We like to think our favorite textiles do too. This year, we've launched several projects featuring remarkable Japanese fabrics (see below). Today, we're releasing the Indigo Moleskin Work Shirt—maybe the most soulful of them all.
The Service Jacket takes its cues from mid-century utility wear—purposeful, durable, and built for daily use. Every detail serves a function: deep patch pockets, reinforced seams, and a tall collar designed to block the wind. This season’s build uses high-density Japanese twill, prized for its tight weave, resilience, and clean finish.
The Field Pant was designed to address common wear points while maintaining comfort and range of motion. Rivets and reinforced seams protect the knees, thighs, and seat, and the trusted fit remains unchanged. This edition features a yarn-dyed cotton twill woven in Okayama, Japan, prized for its dense weave, crisp hand-feel, and subtle variation.
There are chambray fabrics, and then there is our selvedge chambray: indigo rope-dyed, and woven in Okayama, Japan. You would be hard-pressed to find a finer, heavier weight chambray. The substantial, crisp hand-feel promises years of hard wear while developing all sorts of character that only comes from such a premium Japanese textile.
Every Best Made bandana begins in Hamamatsu, Japan, on small vintage shuttle looms that yield our signature selvedge edge. Then they go to Yokohama where they are hand-printed and air-dried. An everyday accessory of unparalleled quality—soft, durable, and imbued with all the character that comes from a uniquely analog process guided by masterful hands.
