Drink and Draw: Ancient Egyptian Art
Thursday, August 15, 7–9 pm
Sip and sketch! Get inspired by figures, sculptures, and pottery in our ancient Egyptian art collection. Then, sketch from live models and experiment with materials in a casual class led by teaching artist Natalia Munoz Durango. Plus, enjoy tunes from DJ Amber Valentine.

dapperQ Presents Nine
Thursday, September 5, 6–11 pm
Queer style platform dapperQ returns to present Nine, the ninth annual edition of New York Fashion Week’s largest LGBTQIA+ fashion show. Kick off the evening with a happy hour hosted by Henrietta Hudson, New York City’s longest-standing brick-and-mortar lesbian bar, and peruse pop-up shops before the runway showcase. The show features new designs by ALEGRÍA, FreeMen by Mickey, Soid Studios by José González, Zoe Grinfeld, Hanna Hamam, KEITH KELLY, and Transguy Supply.

The day features a curator tour of the exhibition, conversations with art historians and museum leaders on the artist’s resounding legacy, and a tribute performance by Catlett’s son, composer and drummer Francisco Mora Catlett.

2024 Brooklyn Caribbean Literary Festival | Faces of the Caribbean

For five consecutive years, the Brooklyn Caribbean Literature Festival (BCLF) has brought together some of the most remarkable writers, artists, cultural workers, intellectuals, and activists from the Caribbean and its diaspora. This year, the festival continues this tradition, featuring some of the most distinguished and influential voices in Caribbean literature.
