Today is National Quitters Day.
(Did you know that was a thing?)
Apparently so many people throw in the towel by the second Friday in January (i.e. today) that it became a recognized "day".
In light of that, here are 5 tips to ensure you make it into that 20% that DOESN'T quit:
#1 – Set smaller goals.
Instead of sweeping declarations and expecting iron-clad commitment, focus on smaller steps.
- Do you workout on average twice a week? Awesome, try to aim for 3/week.
- Do you eat out 3 nights a week? Try to only eat out twice a week. Small steps.
#2 – Focus on consistency.
You don’t gain (or lose) fat in a day. Getting into shape, regardless of your goals, takes time – and it’s the sum of what you do consistently over time that adds up.
#3 – Be patient.
Seeing results takes time. Sure there are things you can do to speed it up
(like creatine, hint hint), but fitness is a long game that requires patience. The better you get at delayed gratification, the less pressure you’ll put on seeing results faster, and the more you’ll be at peace with trusting the process.
#4 – Diet is more important than supplementation.
Sounds weird coming from a company that sells creatine in gummy form, but you can't eat like an asshole and think supplements will fix things. Make health a priority, including what you’re consuming.
#5 – Don’t sweat the small things.
You’ll never be 100% perfect. That’s okay, no one is. You’ll mess up and fall off. Hell, you may have fallen off already. Decide to get back up and keep going imperfectly.
