I’ve awoken every day of my entire childhood to the sound of my father mixing jaggery into his morning chai, and that beautiful spicy, caramelly aroma wafting into my room. In India, chai means so many things to so many people: an essential morning ritual, the ideal 15-minute office break, a late-night study hack to drive away sleep, and an excuse to get the family together every evening to sip and snack during golden hour.
Our Chota Tingrai Black Tea is full-bodied and of medium strength (aka the perfect dose of caffeine), and our Chai Masala brings all the warming spices (cardamom, ginger, pepper, fennel) to the yard to make a creamy, spicy cup of chai. You can enjoy it unsweetened if you like, or, like my father, add some Madhur Jaggery for a deep caramelly sweetness that doesn’t overpower.
