- It’s Time to Switch to a Privacy Browser [wired.com]
We couldn't agree with David Nield more: it's time to switch to a privacy browser. Chrome's "Incognito mode and the equivalent modes offered by other browsers aren't as secure as you might think, particularly if you start signing into accounts like Google or Facebook. Your activities and searches as a logged-in user on large platforms can still be recorded, primarily to create advertising that's more accurately targeted toward your demographic."
Switch to DuckDuckGo today for "maximum protection with minimal effort".
- US Lawmakers Unveil a Plan to Give All Americans a Right to Online Privacy [cnn.com]

- CFPB Report Identifies Financial and Privacy Risks to Consumers in Video Gaming Marketplaces [consumerfinance.gov]
As video games become more and more popular, financial transactions within those virtual worlds have also increased. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) investigates the risks in a new report. On the privacy front, "publishers are collecting large amounts of data on players, including behavioral details such as financial data, purchasing history and spending thresholds." What's more, "with the advent of virtual- and mixed-reality gaming, the information gathered by headsets may include biometric data ... which may pose medical privacy risks."
