Hey there,
I was reading yesterday that Friday the 16th was officially “Quitter’s Day”, the point in January when many people feel most tempted to give up on the habits they set at the start of the year. That really stuck with me.
Mid-January can be a strange time. There’s often a lot of pressure floating around right now: to hit goals, to stick perfectly to resolutions, to “get it right” straight out of the gate. Social media doesn’t always help with that either. Everything can start to feel quite loud.
I wanted to send a quick note this morning, nothing polished, just a few thoughts from me to you. As I grabbed a coffee from my local cafe, I found myself thinking about how this time of year can feel heavy in ways we don’t always talk about.
As a founder, I feel a version of that pressure too. January is stereotypically our biggest month. People are health-focused, motivated, paying attention and it can feel like there’s no room for mistakes. Like you have to nail everything immediately.
This morning was a reminder that progress doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. At ELEAT, we’re trying to focus on simple habits that help us stay grounded and healthy through a busy start to the year:
- Eating well, without over-complicating it
- Training regularly, even when motivation dips
- Drinking more water than coffee (most days…)
- And getting outside when we can, even when it’s cold and grey
Nothing extreme. Just steady, supportive habits that actually last.
That’s exactly why we created ELEAT: to make that one daily habit feel easy, nourishing, and sustainable. If a gentle reset to your mornings would help right now, you can explore our breakfasts here.
If January has felt heavy for you at all, I just wanted you to know you’re not alone and that it’s okay to check in, reset, and keep going at your own pace.
Thanks for being here with us.
Take care,
Hywel
