If you’ve been here a minute, you might know that we also make a magazine. In fact, that’s how we started. (And if you’re wondering when the next issue is coming out, more on that in a minute.) Both David and I love print, and though publishing a magazine is maybe one of the hardest things we do, it’s also the most gratifying. Case Sensitive is a new community dedicated to supporting and shaping the future of print. Run by a crew of indie publishing veterans, the inaugural conference is happening September 13th in NYC. I’ll be speaking on a panel, and David and I are both honored to be advisors. Early bird tickets are $55, so if you feel anywhere from remotely curious to deeply passionate about print, I’d strongly suggest snapping one up. See you there!

Big news: we’re working on a book! It’s called Tripping Point and it will be a coffee table guide to the past, present, and future of psychedelics, featuring interviews, illustrated histories, and visual explorations. Each chapter is dedicated to a different hallucinogenic, with additional sections focused on things like travel, alternative modalities, iconography, and more. This is one of the most exciting projects we’ve worked on in a while. As we very much recognize that the world of psychedelics is bigger and more varied than any one book could ever purport to get its arms around, we have a request for you all. We’re on the hunt for hyper-local, specific-to-you, niche or under-reported angles that we might not know about. Do you have a visual or written story you’d like to tell? We’d love to hear it. You can find all details and guidelines here.

The “Wes Andersons of sign-making” have dropped an Arthur Ashe stadium shirt in the lead up to next month’s U.S. Open. The Ecuadorian-born artists have been making handmade signs for New York businesses since the 1970s, but in recent years have received more and more recognition for their specific style and personal stories. The new shirt is a limited edition of 150 (well, 149 since I already ordered one), so jump on this while you still can.

In case you missed it, we launched Camino’s line of hemp-derived gummies on the site this week. I’ve been waiting for this moment for months now, and you better believe I ordered one of each for myself, too. I’ve been loving the citrus-flavored Freshly Squeezed ones. Don’t read too much into the “Recover” framing. I find these CBG-heavy edibles give me the perfect mid-week, post-work high: pleasantly strong and without even a whisper of anxiety. (Apologies in advance to our New York and California friends, as we can’t currently ship these to you, but do check back as regulations change frequently!)

Long considered one of the—if not the—best state fairs for food by people in the know, the Minnesota State Fair released their list of new dishes for for this year and you might have a heart attack just reading them. Either the best or worst thing to look at while stoned. And in case you want more from the same (clogged) vein, here’s the Iowa State Fair list, too.

It’s gotten harder and harder to cut through the digital clutter to find interesting shows, events, performances, and parties in the city. I see what bubbles up or what I hear about from friends, but the feeling of pure discovery is rare. IN-YC is a new app that surfaces local listings based on where you are: poetry readings, rooftop listening sessions, creative pop-ups, large scale installations—all of it. I love the idea and, even more so, would love to see it expand beyond New York to other cities.
