I fell in love with the work of Paris-based photographer Anais Kugel when an image in a post from It’s Nice That stopped my thumb in its mid-scroll tracks. It always feels like a tiny blessing to stumble upon a work of art that moves you, but Kugel’s imagery hit me hard enough that I started poking around for prints. A few DMs later, I discovered that Kugel and I shared a birthday, which felt even more fortuitous. I’m treating myself to a small print of “Grandma” for mine this month. The photo reminds me very much of my own grandmother, whose love for all things gold and glittery only increased with age. -VvP

Unfortunately, like so many other great cannabis brands, design-forward accessories company Laundry Day has closed up shop. Well, nearly closed up shop. For the time being, you can still get some of their great products for 70% off. That includes their popular Hudson Pipe, Tanjun Pipe, and Charlotte Pipe. Some colors are already gone, but others (and the frosted and chrome ones) are still available. Get ‘em while they last and pay a little farewell to a great company. -DW

Spread the Jelly’s pop-up archive at The Standard East Village is a deeply researched and charmingly DIY collection of motherhood ephemera. Think: vintage copies of Ms. magazine, a postpartum corset with its original instructional insert, Troll dolls, and more, all of it sourced from a mix of antique markets, swap meets, eBay, Facebook Marketplace, and estate sales. The archive itself is open through Sunday, but if you’re free today and looking for plans, there’s a multilingual storytime happening today at 10 AM and a kids vintage market running until 1 PM. -VvP

I stopped to admire a random little garden today. It was not the most beautiful I've ever seen, nor the most robust. It was ... fine. A few bushes here, some flowers there, a speckled grey rock clearly meant to evoke wildness but whose obviously deliberate placement conveyed anything but. And yet, I admired it because someone had cared enough to make it. Which reminded me of this piece in T Magazine from a few weeks back, in which nine artists named the gardens they'll never forget. The one I saw wouldn't make that list. But it germinated from the same place. -DW

Presented by Sudestada as part of their Objects at Play exhibition, this is legitimately one of the coolest workshops I’ve seen in New York in a while. Using 100% recycled Argentine leather sourced from the sample archives from artist Malena Guerrieri’s family tannery, join Guerrieri for a four-hour, hands-on class next Saturday from which you’ll walk away with a cool new soccer (foot) ball. I can’t believe it’s not already sold out. Go now! -DW
