👀 Ye Reveals the YZY BL-01
TLDR:
Diving into the new year, Ye has spared no time in rolling out
his latest works. he’s back with yet another footwear unveiling,
presenting the YZY line’s new BL-01, aka “The Bullys.”
Why
It Matters: The preview depicts a chunky, unbranded sneaker
that does not featuring a lacing system at its mesh and nubuck upper. An
all-black finish is used once again as the shoe sees a sizable midsole
backed by a ripple outsole to complete the initial preview. It will be
interesting to see if he’s somehow able to maintain the $20 USD price
point of the store’s other products with the eventual launch of the
BL-01. At the time of writing, Ye has not yet indicated when the YZY
BL-01 will be made available for sale. Look out for it to drop at any
moment as it’s likely to arrive via the YZY SPLY website sometime this

📜 Takashi Murakami and Louis Vuitton's Collaborative History
TLDR:
This isn't the duo's first rodeo together as they go way back.
In 2002, then creative director, Marc Jacobs, invited the Japanese
artist to makeover Louis Vuitton’s classic monogram collection.
Why
It Matters: Decorated with Murakami’s signature characters
and color pop palette the head-turning lineup became a pop culture
status symbol. The disruptive team-up made Murakami the first person to
rework the house’s emblem and the result was a breakthrough hit that
earned it an immediate place in both the fashion and art history books.
The collection was so impactful it remained on shelves for 12 years with
resale prices continuously increasing each year. Murakami's Louis
Vuitton designs were not only seen on the arms of celebrities, but made
their way into museum exhibitions. Fast forward to today, Louis Vuitton
and Murakami have reconnected once again for a full-circle fashion
moment that people knew they did not want to miss out on.

😳 Upcoming Stüssy x Denim Tears Collaboration Surfaces
TLDR:
Denim Tears and Stüssy are reconnecting for a new collaborative
collection for the upcoming season. Stüssy brand insider Dion Lewis
posted to his Instagram Story a selection of items from the new apparel
collection to tease the release of the collaboration.
Why
It Matters: The Tremaine Emory-led brand’s new collaboration
with Stüssy sees several co-branded pieces that include the classic
cotton wreath pattern come together to from the Stüssy moniker. The same
graphic is printed all-over a pair of khaki chinos while other pieces
teased include a brown collared shirt featuring the words “Jamaican
High” on the front. Other co-branded items include a Denim Tears and
Stüssy branded t-shirt, a belt and what appears to be a camo pattern
messenger bag or duffle. While the date for the collaboration has not
yet been confirmed, the now-anticipated release will see the two link up
once again, utilizing Denim Tears’ pension for patterns, color and text
that reference the African American background to combine with Stüssy’s
unmatched and widely recognizable branding and silhouettes.
