John here. I am off to Ithaca, New York this weekend for the New York Special Olympics State Games. I am throwing the Turbo Javelin and running the 100-meter dash and the 4 X 100 relay. I have trained hard all season and can’t wait to go.
The State Games are so much fun. I take a bus with the other athletes. Tonight, we have the Opening Ceremonies when we all walk in together and officially open the games. Saturday, we compete all day. And then Saturday night, we
finish up by having a dance. You know I love to dance.
I love the Special Olympics. I love to compete and train with my team. The Special Olympics have taught me sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and grit: I can fall and get right back up. That’s why the Special Olympics were our first charity partner.
When you buy socks from us, you not only help us employ people with differing abilities, but you also help us Give Back to charity partners like the Special Olympics.
It's My Dad's Birthday
Today is my father's birthday. He's my Dad, my partner and my buddy. He gives me strength and confidence. I love him so much. I can't wait to sing Happy Birthday and give him my surprise gift.
Thank you for all your support. Wish me good luck at the State Games.
