John here.
I want to tell you about a student I met on my trip to Portland, Oregon. My Dad and I spoke with a transition program at a local school. We discussed employment, entrepreneurship, and following your dreams. The class loved it and I got to have lots of conversations with the students.
I had a long conversation with one student, Ser Nay Paw. She uses a wheelchair and does not have the use of her hands. But that hasn’t stopped her from becoming an artist. She cannot paint with her hands, so she paints with her feet. She told me all about her paintings and showed me how she uses her feet to paint. Her paintings are so beautiful.
As we finished our conversation, Ser Nay Paw asked me to wait a minute. She had her aide bring over a painting. She gave me the painting. I gave her a great big hug. I will share a picture of Ser Nay Paw and me. Her painting is one of the best gifts I have ever gotten in my life. I love it.
Ser Nay Paw shows that nothing can hold us back. I told the class, “Follow your heart. Follow your dreams. Work hard. Show what you can do.”
I hope you have a great day and a great weekend. And thank you. When you buy our socks, you make it possible for me to meet people like Ser Nay Paw.
