As you read this, an Elon Musk-backed dark money group is spending more than $1 million supporting the Republican candidate in a Wisconsin Supreme Court race. The money is going toward massive television ad buys in markets across the state.
Why is he doing this?
Because this race is to replace a left-leaning justice, and if Republicans win they can swing the court in their favor. That will have an impact on things like drawing Congressional Districts in Wisconsin, where Republicans have taken a 50/50 state and given Republicans 3/4 of the seats in Congress.
So Wisconsin Democrats need our help to fight back. We don't have Elon Musk, but we do have lots and lots of folks who care who are willing to chip-in a few bucks where and when they can.
And giving to the DNC today gives them the ability to allocate resources where they are needed, when they are needed most.
