“Parenting is a journey of personal beliefs, values and experience. All parents are trying to do what is best for their family, and since all families are different, it’s inevitable that our decisions around the table will differ at times.”

💬 Your Questions, Answered 💬 |
|
|
Q: How can I prioritize my self care while being a working parent? |
A: It’s hard to be the top employee and favorite parent at the same time. Parenting, as we know, is a full-time job, so you may not feel so out of the norm as you would think! Every once in a while you need to treat yourself to something that you enjoy. Find a creative outlet, prio self-care or go on a solo walk around the neighborhood and listen to your favorite podcast (insert a gorey true crime show for me). Whatever it is, carve out some time and do something for you. It’s not selfish, it’s necessary.

Q: How do I create boundaries with my in-laws? |
A: Communicate with your in-laws that while you respect their views and appreciate their advice and help (after all, they’ve done this before), neither you nor your husband will tolerate your parenting choices being judged because they don’t align with your in-laws’ expectations. Expect some hurt feelings (but don’t feel guilty over them). Someone else’s hurt feelings are not your responsibility when it comes to doing what’s best for your baby. |
