It’s also experiences millions of pounds of food loss each year, which is why we’re thrilled to be able to give fellow food-waste-fighters (and longtime partner) Sharing Excess a $200,000 grant to continue their on-site food rescue operation at the market. By increasing community engagement and rescuing delicious food, Sharing Excess will be able to redistribute 10 million pounds of nutritious food in NYC communities each year.
